Mountains (Half/Full Day)

This mountainous region is very good for raptors and montane scrub birds
including the only known breeding location for Orphean Warbler in the area.

One of three areas can be visited depending on season.
In Spring a visit to Monnegre should produce some interesting birds
including breeding Bonelli's Eagle, Trumpeter Finch and Orphean Warbler.
During the winter months a visit to the Maigmo area might produce Alpine Accentor,
Ring Ouzel and occasionally Wallcreeper, especially when the weather is cold.
Throughout the year a visit to a Vulture feeding station in the Sierra Mariola
will produce close-up views of Griffons in good numbers.

Dartford Warbler, Goldcrest, Firecrest, Coal Tit, Blue Tit, Crested Tit,
Long Tailed Tit, Short Toed Treecreeper, Jay, Red Billed Chough, Raven,
Crossbill, Trumpeter Finch, Cirl Bunting and Rock Bunting.

Spring/Summer/Autumn

Short Toed Eagle,

Honey Buzzard, Hobby, Turtle Dove, Cuckoo, Great Spotted Cuckoo, Scops Owl,
Red Necked Nightjar, Alpine Swift, Hoopoe, Bee-Eater, Wryneck, Red Rumped Swallow,
Tree Pipit, Nightingale, Rufous Bushchat, Redstart, Black Eared Wheatear,

Woodchat Shrike, Orphean Warbler, Subalpine Warbler, Isabelline Warbler,
Wood Warbler, Bonelli’s Warbler, Spotted Flycatcher, Pied Flycatcher,
Woodchat Shrike and Golden Oriole.

Winter

Merlin, Dunnock, Alpine Accentor, Redwing, Fieldfare,

Ring Ouzel, Brambling and Siskin.

Vagrants and Rarities

Rock Thrush and Wallcreeper have been seen.
